Organic Grocery “Hub” Opens in Bed Stuy

A members-only, subscription-based organic grocery store just opened at 360 Throop in Bed Stuy. Nextdoororganics is similar to a CSA, but more flexible. Members order specific items each week and choose home delivery or pick up at numerous locations in Brooklyn or Manhattan.

They carry a wide variety of grocery items beyond produce, including bread from Bed Stuy’s SCRATCHbread, pastured eggs, butter, cheese, locally roasted organic coffee from Brewklyn Grind, beans, oil, and spices. The produce comes from New York City farms as well as places far away (such as avocados from California). They don’t seem to have meat or fish, though.

DNAinfo said the spot was set to open in February, but when we stopped by a few days ago, a worker inside said they opened last week. Back in January, they had 600 members and were operating out of the back of Bread Love, said DNAinfo.

Anyone checked it out? GMAP
