If you’re considering a summer rental upstate, now is the time to make a decision before the good ones are all gone.

Okay, $25,500 is a lot, and the listing says that’s per month, which has got to be a mistake. So, we’re thinking that’s for the whole summer. This renovated ferry house is certainly a slice of Heaven on the Hudson, with every living room window offering quite a view. Four bedrooms means lots of space for a large family, and it comes with its own private beach and 3.3 acres of land. West Park is a pretty part of Ulster County, less than 10 miles north of Poughkeepsie. Property is also for sale at $1,500,000. Beds: 4. Baths: 2.5. Square Feet: 2,990. Lot Size: 3.3. Not $25,000/month expensive, but still a little on the pricy side. Good news is, this rental is available from August onward, and the price drops to $3,000 come September. Rent includes all utilities and the house comes furnished. Great spot if you’re looking for a fall/winter retreat to upstate, situated on a brook. Five minutes walk to Woodstock village and the Trailways bus station in town. Beds: 2. Baths: 1. Square Feet: 912. Lot Size: .77 acres. Distance from Brooklyn: 2 hours, 4 mins.

Another offering in Woodstock, this one up on Ohayo Mountain, about a mile and a half south of the village. And this one comes with a pool as well as an open floor plant, terraced decks, privacy, and nearly two acres of land. Listing says there’s a wall unit AC available, but that doesn’t account for the four bedrooms in the house. Perhaps BYOAC? Pets allowed with pet deposit. Beds: 4. Baths: 2. Square Feet: 1386. Lot Size: 1.92.

Is this truly a crooked house, or can we thank some sort of camera trickery for the Leaning Tower of Pisa look? Either way, the listing has this rental in Saugerties, but it’s actually in the town of Catskill, just over the Ulster County line into Greene County. Close to both Saugerties and the village of Catskill, though, which is good. Also good is that it’s on the Kaaterskill Creek, and that means swimming holes and waterfalls. And, it’s practically a bargain compared to the others, but take note: This is a 12-month rental, and you’ll need renter’s insurance. Beds: 2. Baths: 2. Square Feet: 2,200. Lot Size: 5.11 acres. Distance to Brooklyn: 2 hours, 9 minutes.
