This Amzi Hill-designed brick and brownstone at 22 Arlington Place has all the bells and whistles and yet is in move-in condition. There’s a center hall stair with a Queen Anne Gothic style fireplace with robin’s egg blue tile, eclectic screens and stained glass, a paneled hall with a mirrored entry and inlaid floors.

There’s also a modern kitchen at the rear of the parlor floor with a Wolf range and marble island and backsplash as well as modern bathrooms and central air. The finished basement has what looks like modern encaustic tile, a nice touch.

It’s set up as an owner’s triplex over a garden floor rental. The house was an estate that sold for $725,000 to an LLC last year. What do you think of it and the $1,850,000 ask?

  1. This home is absolutely beautiful, I love how the original details have been carefully restored, nice to have people appreciate Brooklyn’s architecture. I’m assuming Adamc1303 is the owner, I really appreciate how he took great pains to keep the original details intact at the expense (hardly a big expense at all) of certain modern features. Great job and I’d put money this house will do well on the market!

  2. It looks great, but something seems off about the bedrooms and bathroom layout on the 3rd (top) floor of the owner’s unit. There are two bedrooms, but it seems there is access to the bathroom through the master bedroom only.

  3. Small question for those that have radiators and exposed heating pipes.

What do you think of the way the radiator covers enclose the lower half of the pipe as well as the radiator. Seems like a practical solution but am not sure it looks “balanced.” Would you consider this a good solution?

  4. Hi, yes, I thought of that possibility, that the slightly smaller bedroom might be used as an ancillary space to the master bedroom, ie., a study, a dressing room, a sitting room or even a nursery for a young child.
