This new penthouse listing at 383 Carlton Avenue has some of the best views in Fort Greene. The 1,800-square-foot pad has three bedrooms and three separate outdoor spaces. The 11th-floor space doesn’t come cheap though: Asking price is $1,985,000. We think they’ll get it.

  1. I don’t understand why so many of these properties turn over again and again. This apartment is a repeat offender.
It was even profiled in NY Magazine back in ’07. http://nymag.com/realestate/vu/2007/04/30324/ It took forever and a day to sell back then as I recall.

When I was younger, back when dinosaurs roamed the earth, a home, even a co-op or condo, was a lifelong purchase, not something to be traded in like a car when the shine starts to wear off. Even that fabulous apartment above the Montauk club is up for sale again.

Perhaps I should give the owners the benefit of the doubt, maybe they have kids and are out growing the space or want to be closer to Brooklyn Heights schools or whatever..but how can you sustain a community if the homeowners, who were supposed to be investing in the area, are no more committed than renters?

  2. Small bedrooms & kitchen, but a nice apartment nevertheless. At least this is an actual kitchen, as opposed to some of the newer listings that have been shown here recently, where just a sliver of one wall is dedicated to kitchen space.
