This contemporary loft-design passive solar beauty is located in Elka Park, which we spoke of last week, a bit less than nine miles from Hunter Mountain. It’s so perfect, we can barely stand to sully it with mere words, so feast your eyes on the photos, including the shots of the property’s resident waterfall. Beds: 2. Baths: 2. Square Feet: 1,800. Of course, we can’t talk about winter sports in the Catskills without talking about Belleayre Mountain. The village of Fleischmanns might technically be in a different county from Belleayre, but it’s only a few miles away, and there are lots of great properties in the area on the cheap, like this Colonial with four bedrooms right in the heart of town. It’s located less than four miles from the slopes, and given the price, we would see what we could do about updating the interior a little bit. Skiing in Sullivan County? Indeed there is, at Holiday Mountain in Monticello. It’s not as big as some of the others, but they have a water park and mini-golf in the summer. This huge circa-1948 ranch isn’t that exciting from the outside, but there are elements of the interior we really dig, like that great solarium room. Other parts…well, not so much. But it’s on a lot of land, it’s reasonably priced, and it’s less than nine miles from Holiday Mountain. Sullivan County needs some love, too. Beds: 3. Baths: 2.5. Square Feet: 3,320. Lot Size: 4.19 acres. Est.
