  1. Not surprised about the traffic problems on Nostrand. It was a mess before, and taking away a lane will make it even more of a mess. But traffic agents will never do anything about double parking and rush-hour no parking because they’ll get into confrontations. Better to ticket empty parked cars.

    In Manhattan once, I parked in a corner “No Parking Any Time” spot (not hydrant, etc.). I ran an errand on that same block. When I came out of the store 5 minutes later, my car was actually halfway up on a tow truck. They should ABSOLUTELY do this on the streets that have no parking during rush hour. That would stop the behavior real quick.

    Another problem, however, is that most of those double-parked and illegally-parked cars actually have someone just sitting in them. There are apparently thousands of people with nothing better to do during the day than sit in illegally-parked cars and read the paper or play on their phones.
