A tipster sent us a rendering of the five-story brick apartment building that is planned for 61 Park Place in Park Slope, where a small 19th-century brick building once stood. Marketing for the site, which sold last year for $5,750,000, said it was wide enough for “four luxury townhouses” but instead the developer opted to build a five-story, 17-unit, mixed-use brick building. The architect is Shiming Tam, and it is supposed to finish in spring 2015, according to the notice posted on the site. Right now it looks like they are working on the foundation. Our tipster said he thought the design looks like the new builds on 4th Avenue. Click through for more photos. What do you think of it?

  1. Uh oh. Daycare in basement? For the building or public? I’m currently subletting on a block with daycare while renovating and can’t wait to move. I have a kid myself, but the constant shrieking is more than I can take!
