New architects for the long-stalled Robert Scarano-designed development at 205 North 7th Street in Williamsburg confirm that work is re-starting on the condo project, which had been known as The Modern. Architect Benjamin Ellis recently filed new building applications for the 65 percent unfinished building that has sat untouched for over two years.

Started way back in 2005, the four-story building was slated for nine luxury condos priced from $760,000 for a 1,173-square-foot “townhouse” unit to $915,000 for a 1,001-square foot duplex with 70 square feet of outdoor space, as we reported at the time.

Construction was delayed by stop work orders and halted entirely when the economy tanked. Jonathan Wachtel of Lucky Boy Development sold the building for $4,219,904 in May 2011 to a buyer called North 7th Acquisitions LLC, according to the Real Deal. On October 10, he filed a lis pendens against the current owners for specific performance, PropertyShark records show.
