The controversial billboard for Sunset Park strip club Peyton’s Playpen that went up at the corner of President Street and 4th Avenue in July is gone. Yesterday a new billboard advertising St. Francis College went up in its place. The tipster who sent us the above photo also told us a gourmet market named Hop, Stock & Barrel is going into the basement space here. The initial complaint about the Peyton’s Playpen ad was that it was “not right for Park Slope.” Think these two developments fit in better with the neighborhood?
Not that I travel around there much, so I can’t comment on the billboard, but isn’t there alreadya deli or market store underneath that has the ivy decoration on the exterior? Why are they being replaced, or is it just a name change?
