New Bar Coming to Kingston Avenue

A tipster tells us there’s a new bar and restaurant called Maxwell’s coming to 259A Kingston Avenue between St. Johns and Lincoln in Crown Heights, above. They’ve applied for a full liquor license and are seeking approval from Community Board Eight. They posted a notice on the door saying they want to be open by November 1 (check it out after the jump), but that might be optimistic given the scheduled public hearing on October 7 and the lengthy SLA and community board liquor license approval process. The spot’s former resident, Part II Lounge, opened in 2011 and closed earlier this year. Above are two apartments; the three-story building last traded for $505,000 in 2009, according to PropertyShark.
