Silverstone Property Group has demolished the old Associated grocery store and neighboring shops at 490 Myrtle Avenue in Clinton Hill and started laying down the foundation for a new rental property. As we’ve reported, they’re planning to build a mixed-use development with a seven-story building and an eight-story building on the sizable lot, which encompasses 484-504 Myrtle Avenue between Hall Street and Grand Avenue. There will be a total of 240 rental units, 20 percent of which will be “affordable housing.” The Associated will likely return to the seven-story building, which will also house a TD Bank, but the post office is not expected to come back. Architect Aufgang and Subotovsky Architecture and Planning submitted plans for the site back in April, which said building materials will include light gray cast stone and dark gray metal.   GMAP
