New Brooklyn Theater Still at It Despite Slave Sale But Eyeing Another Site Too

The New Brooklyn Theater, an organization that had hoped to buy the Slave Theater with crowdsourced funds, sent out a statement to supporters and friends after the Slave was sold last week to a developer. They say they’re in talks with the new owners “to restore theatre to the site” and are also “pursuing a second site in Fort Greene” via a “partnership” with an unnamed developer. They’ve had some management and board changes, and continue to ask for donations.
