Co-op of the Day: 1119 Ocean Parkway, #6N

It’s rare to see a six-digit ask these days that starts with the numeral one, so this one-bedroom co-op at 1119 Ocean Parkway caught our eye simply because of the price of $179,000. What’s more, the Midwood co-op is actually in good shape, having been recently renovated. And while the finishes are pretty generic, it’s hard not to see this as an interesting entry point in a heated marketplace, especially since the maintenance is just $585.

  • I’ve been wondering how long it will take for more buyers to notice Kensington and Midwood. After going through the trauma of trying to buy in the Extended Park Slope Region for about a year, I finally closed this spring on a two bedroom, prewar coop in Kensington for under $350. It needed work but all told, still well, well under our original budget. And I’m less than 10 minutes away by subway to 7th Avenue, in a quiet area with treeline views. PLUS we avoided all the stress of buyer competition that I keep hearing about in other neighborhoods. These prices are just so low in comparison to the Brownstone Belt…

  • There are some reasonably priced properties (houses and apts) out there, but won’t get featured here cause they’re not in the B’oner Marketplace.
