DNAinfo published this rendering of the apartment building that’s planned on the Associated Supermarket site on Myrtle Avenue with the news that the developer will break ground early next week. The developer, Silverstone Property Group, announced their plans to the community on Monday. According to DNAinfo, residents felt shocked the groundbreaking was happening so soon. The building will have seven stories, 232 units (20 percent of which will be affordable), and commercial space. Silverstone plans to build on top of the existing structure that housed Associated Supermarket, and the grocery will return to the commercial space along with a TD Bank. The building should be ready for occupancy by early 2015.

  1. Any word on the the post office? From what I understood, both buildings are coming down. There was a petition to Latitia James this spring to get information on the post office but there hasn’t been announcement, that I know of.
