There is lots of news regarding openings and closings along North Flatbush Avenue, via the North Flatbush Avenue BID. Ideya Brooklyn officially opens on the corner of Park Place and Flatush Avenue tonight. The restaurant, previously located in SoHo, will serve up Caribbean food. Cream Puff Cafe, the coffee and juice bar on 6th Avenue between Dean and Bergen, has shuttered. The old Sushi Tatsu space at 347 Flatbush Avenue, at Carlton, will be filled by a walk-in emergency room service, Urgent Care Premier Care. A Texas-style barbecue restaurant called Sloan’s will open later this month at 267 Flatbush Avenue, at St. Marks Avenue (pictured). And next door will be the Elbow Room, which will serve mac and cheese. (There’s already a location at the Barclays Center.) The restaurant SugarCane at 238 Flatbush is expanding into the old Allied Orthopedic space at 240 Flatbush Avenue. And the Wayne Agassi hair salon and spa just opened a second location at 319 Flatbush Avenue, in the former RedBeri Boutique space.

  1. The restaurant pictured is on the corner of St. marks and will be BBQ. Personally confirmed by me, who asked the manager.

Seems dumb for the salon to “expand” or offer a “second location” 1 or 2 blocks down on Flatbush.
