Haunted mansion no more! What a beauty this William Tubby-designed home has become, after years of neglect and then a sale in 2009 for $1,750,000. The owners have truly done an excellent job restoring the building while adding a few modern touches to boot. Now it’s up for rent, asking $14,000 a month. That’s for 6,300 square feet, six wood burning fireplaces, a private backyard, and a 19th century bathtub that was used by the late Brooklyn mayor Charles A. Schieren. We can’t afford it, but we sure appreciate the interior photos! Read all about the history of the building in this Building of the Day post.
