The Department of Buildings just issued two new building permits for the empty lot on State Street between Bond and Hoyt. This is the State Renaissance Townhouse lot where plans have been in place for years, but construction has not yet started. The permit for 347A State is for a four-story, two-family building and the permit for 351 State is for a four-story, one-family building. The DOB approved new building permits for 345 State, 349A State, 353 State, and 347 State in late May. Above are the renderings released back in January 2012 for the 5,000-square-foot townhouses. (The developers also met with Community Board Two in December 2011.) Since these plans have been on and off for so long, we’re not holding our breath that construction will start soon. Meanwhile, the 9 Townhouses on the other side of State Street, a project by different developers, is nearing completion.
