More than 8,000 people have signed up for the yearly memberships, said The New York Times. The system will launch with 6,000 bikes and 330 stations in Brooklyn and Manhattan. Eventually, the program will have 10,000 bikes and 600 stations, including in Queens. For access on starting day, riders must buy passes by May 17.
