The three-story house at 284 Clermont Avenue was on the market for what seemed like forever back in the mid-aughts, selling finally for just $520,000 back in 2008 and then again for $865,000 in 2009. The most recent buyer doubled down and put a lot of money into bringing the small but now quite attractive house back to life. It’ll be interesting to see how the new asking price of $1,950,000 flies because, while it’s a lot of money on a per square foot basis (the house is only around 2,000 square feet), it’s quite low on an absolute basis for a house in Fort Greene right now.
