A few tipsters have gotten in touch about the big fire that broke out today on Williamsburg’s Bedford Avenue. Gothamist reports that the fire started at 175 Bedford Avenue, at North 7th Street, around 2pm (just across the street from the Salvation Army demo we posted about earlier today) and apparently the fire spread to three buildings. The FDNY hasn’t yet said how the fire started. NBC says two firefighters were injured and 170 firefighters are on the scene. No civilian injuries have been reported. We’re reading reports that the flames were brought down around 3:30pm today.
