Almondine’s South Slope location is up for rent, South Slope News reported. The French bakery, which also has another retail location in Dumbo at 85 Water Street, has been shuttered since Hurricane Sandy destroyed its Dumbo kitchen. Owner Herve Poussot intends to reopen and has been raising funds to rebuild the kitchen. He needs $150,000 and so far has raised more than $30,000, according to the Daily News. Almondine was named best bakery by New York Magazine in 2009. When we called the Dumbo headquarters, no one picked up the phone.
