    Eater takes another look at Red Hook businesses, which are still reeling from the damage by Sandy. Mile End, which had facilities located in Red Hook, was wiped out and is now unsure how to proceed. Red Hook Winery is still inspecting wine barrels for salt water. Sunny’s is still closed but has raised $26,474 on Kickstarter. The Good Fork should be open by New Year, and Home/Made is hoping to open by the beginning of the new year. Wheated, the pizza restaurant planned for Ditmas Park, started a fundraising campaign after tens of thousands of dollars of equipment stored on Coney Island was damaged. And Popeyes, as well as the Island Grocery Store, are now open on Surf Avenue in Coney Island. (Pictured above, photo by Amusing the Zillion.)

    Bushwick/Williamsburg
    Williamsburg fried fish restaurant Lake Trout closed for renovations. A chicken and waffles joint called Sweet Chick is slated to open on the corner of Bedford and North 8th Street early in the new year. And the Bushwick bar The Narrows is now serving dinner…. the menu includes lamb pot pie, steak delmonico, and welsh rarebit.

    Elsewhere
    A restaurant supply company leaves the Bowery for a ground-floor commercial space on 3rd Avenue in Greenwood. Soon-to-be espresso bar Coffee Mob plans to open on the corner of East 16th Street and Newkirk, in Ditmas Park, in February. Also in Ditmas, the gift shop Collyer’s Mansion is opening tonight and throwing a party. The Village Voice reviews the Bay Ridge expansion of popular Bed Stuy joint David’s Brisket House. Time Out spills some more details on al di la’s second Crown Heights expansion: Called Lincoln Station, it will serve American fare to go. And the now-shuttered PLG restaurant Mike’s International is now a “Beauty Feel Supply” store.
