A reader sent in this picture and this note: “I just noticed that the demo of the building on Grand Avenue and Lexington Avenue in Clinton Hill has revealed what looks like part of the old el train structure.” You can read about the history of the Lexington Avenue elevated line at Forgotten New York. FNY noticed that two brackets that supported the el were still in place, as of 2011, at the garage building on the corner of Grand and Lexington. The garage, as the picture shows, is totally demolished and only this structure remains. Looks like those brackets visible from the roof of the garage were a part of a train structure actually built up inside the garage. According the DOB records, a four-story, four-unit residential build will go up here. GMAP
