Here’s something to consider over the long holiday weekend: Playboy’s plans for posh living in a brownstone neighborhood, circa 1962. As you will see here, some things never change. Playboy describes the Playboy Townhouse as “an ultra-urban island of individuality in a sea of lookalike multiple dwellings.” And the house has radiant floor heating! Sounds just like today. The placement of that heating, though, might seem a little dated — it’s in the open garage! There is also a pool with an underwater picture window — sexy! Drapes, sliding doors and other features are controlled remotely, naturally, and the bed rotates. Are you liking it? Sadly, though, this design takes up a 25-feet-wide lot. Good luck finding one of those these days.
