A new rug showroom and custom design studio is opening in the Bushwick loft area next month at the big warehouse at 41 Varick Avenue. It’s called Aelfie (after the name of the owner, Aelfie Oudghiri) and they specialize in modern rug design, although they sell vintage rugs as well. You can check out a video of their selections right here and their website here. Currently Oudghiri is painting and sanding the space in anticipation of a Dec. 21 opening. There will be a small opening party that day from 6 to 9pm, with live Moroccan music and a selection of vintage Moroccan rugs on display.
