A reader sent in these snapshots of an art installation on the corner of Washington Street (or Cadman Plaza East) and Prospect Street in Dumbo. “Fish Farm: Brooklyn Snappers” is by artist Ben Snead, and it’s part of the Dumbo Arts Festival that took place this past weekend. The giant fish-headĀ sculptures include “a lane snapper, a yellow tail snapper and a rock hind, which are all found in local fish markets in Brooklyn,” as the online description explains. “The fish live in tropical waters such as the Caribbean and are transported here for human consumption. By enlarging them and placing them on grass, they are taken further out of context.”Ā Snead’s work focuses on the human relationship with nature. GMAP
