A Rendering for Catsimatidis’ Fleet Place Build

by

Here’s a fresh rendering for 81 Fleet Place, the second build of billionaire John Catsimatidis’ four promised buildings on Myrtle Avenue between Ashland Place and Flatbush Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn. The architect’s the same from plans back in 2007 but the look’s a little different. Catsimatidis filed plans for a fifteen-story building with 160,000 square feet of residential space and 13,000 square feet of commercial space this summer. (According to DOB records, those plans were disapproved in August.) The architect’s website says construction should last until 2014. And here are more details about the design:

This 15-story building has sub-grade parking, ground floor retail and a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments. Many of the 205 units also have outdoor living spaces such as balconies and roof terraces, some in a duplex configuration. Corner apartments have large windows and dramatic views. An extensive landscaped terrace area on the third-floor level provides an outdoor recreation area for residents.

John Catsimatidis initially planned for two tower developments in the area but scaled back and decided on four smaller buildings. The only development completed so far is the Andrea rental building.
