Southern Exposure: More Tales of Green-Wood
Visit with tour guide Ruth Edebohls the less-seen southern edge of the cemetery, whose monuments and mausoleums have many fascinating stories to tell. Hear the stories of the Park Slope Plane Crash of 1960, “Truth Seeker” D. M. Bennett, a Russian prince, gangsters Joey Gallo and Albert Anastasia, Fred Ebb, an early Richard Upjohn mausoleum, several artists, the accomplished Cutting family, a 19th-century African-American entrepreneurial couple, a Titanic victim and more. Sept. 16 at 1 pm. Meet at the Gothic Arch inside the entrance at 25th Street and Fifth Avenue. Take the R train to 25th Street and walk up one block to the cemetery. Fees: $15.00, $10.00 for Historic Fund members.

The Jayhawks – Free Show Through the Open Space Alliance
The Jayahwks will be performing with special guests Nicole Atkins and Chris Lee. Saturday, Sept. 15. Doors 2 pm, show 3 pm. Free.

Seining the River Wild
Ever wondered what kind of creatures live in the East River? Come watch scientists use a 20-foot net to catch and release fish and other remarkable specimen on the Main Street Waterfront. Free. Saturday, Sept. 15, 1:30 pm at Main Street. Please RSVP by emailing rsvp@brooklynbridgepark.org.

Brooklyn Flea + Smorgasburg
Smorgasburg is now at its second weekly location in Brooklyn Bridge Park, at the historic Tobacco Warehouse in Dumbo. It’ll be open every Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm through Nov. 18. Of course, on Saturday, the Flea is held at 176 Lafayette Avenue (between Clermont and Vanderbilt avenues) in Fort Greene. On Sunday, the Flea will be at 27 North 6th Street (between Kent Avenue and the East River). Saturday at the Williamsburg location is also the home of our all-food market, Smorgasburg. The Flea features over 150 vendors offering a great mix of vintage, antiques, jewelry and amazing food. Flea: Saturday and Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm. Smorg: Saturday, 11 am to 6 pm. Free.
