“On my way to Crunch just before 7AM I saw three police cars, three police emergency vans, and three ambulances parked in front of El Castillo de Jagua, the Spanish restaurant on the corner of Flatbush, Park Place, Carlton, blocking the turn-off onto Carlton and Park Place. There were also a handful of cops (including white-shirt officers) standing in front of the restaurant and in the doorway, along with some EMS workers (some policemen and the EMS guys wearing rubber gloves), they were also keeping pedestrians on Flatbush from walking in front of the restaurant, detouring them into or across the street to get up or down Flatbush. From the size of the police/EMS presence it seemed pretty serious, but I haven’t seen any news anywhere online, and when I asked inside Crunch if they knew what happened, they had no idea.”

We couldn’t find any more details, either. Anybody know what happened?

  1. I just heard a story on WNYC about a bodega employee who was accidentally shot by police responding to an armed robbery early this morning. The suspects of the robbery were apparently inside the stountil a confrontation with police for hours as well. The report didn’t say where the store was but it sounds like a similar situation….
