While Not a Record, Fort Greene Sale Still Impresses

In only five years, the owner of the brick Greek Revival townhouse at 152 Lafayette Avenue in Fort Greene cleared more than a million dollars on its sale, the New York Observer reported. Nice work. Purchased in 2007 for $2 million, the four-story home with marble fireplaces was a HOTD in June and sold on Aug. 17 for $3.1 million. The seller appears to have done some renovations before putting it on the market. (The Fort Greene record of $3.28 million belongs to a five-story brownstone facing the park at 181 Washington Park.)
