Underground Muses of Green-Wood Walking Tour
Many famous and fascinating artists, sculptors, actors and composers have made Green–Wood their place of final repose. Leonard Bernstein, Fred Ebb, Louis Comfort Tiffany, Asher B. Durand, George Caitlin, George Bellows, William Merritt Chase and John La Farge are just a few we will visit with Green-Wood tour guide Ruth Edebohls. Queer India/Pakistan Freedom Fling
Sholay Productions, the makers of the popular monthly Manhattan Bollywood bash are taking the party to Downtown Brooklyn to celebrate India and Pakistan Day with a Queer twist! The bash is at Dekalb Market — a unique, open air destination featuring eateries, art, and more. Get ready to celebrate on an open-air dance floor with a unique blend of Bollywood, Bhangra and House Music by Ashu Rai plus an opening set featuring Indian and Pakistani dance beats by Atif. Large screen Bollywood visuals will also be projected. Explore the market to meet Brooklyn artist-entrepreneurs and sample the diverse dining offerings. Look out for some tasty West Indian dishes by Brooklyn’s Kallabash cuisine. Saturday, August 18, 6 pm to midnight. $10 before 8 pm, $15 after.

Brooklyn Flea + Smorgasburg
The Flea and Smorgasburg are on as usual this weekend. On Saturday, the Flea is held at 176 Lafayette Avenue (between Clermont and Vanderbilt Avenues) in Fort Greene. On Sunday, the Flea will be at 27 North 6th Street (between Kent Avenue and East River). Saturday at the Williamsburg location is also the home of our all-food market, Smorgasburg. The Flea features over 150 vendors offering a great mix of vintage, antiques, jewelry and amazing food. Flea: Saturday & Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm. Smorg: Saturday, 11 am to 6 pm. Free.
