Soul of Brooklyn Block Party
The Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts (MoCADA) proudly presents the Soul of Brooklyn Block Party. This celebration of arts and business partnerships takes place on Saturday, Aug. 4th from 12 pm to 6 pm and will feature live music, DJs, fashion shows, dance and theatrical performances, kids’ activities, a West Indian Labor Day Parade masquerade preview (Mas Band Village), and informational tables for over 20 of Brooklyn’s most dynamic arts organizations. Saturday, Aug. 4th, 12 pm to 6 pm. On Fulton Street between Lafayette and Carlton Avenues.

Jam On DUMBO Family Music Festival
For the second year running, Jam On Dumbo welcomes all NYC-area families to a free Summer Family Music Festival. On Saturday, Aug. 4, from noon to 4 pm, iconic Dumbo restaurant Superfine (126 Front Street) will transform into a kiddie concert venue featuring three of Brooklyn’s coolest acts: Jeff Newell’s New Trad Trio, which combines elements of a New Orleans brass band with those of a modern jazz group; the sweet voice of Jen Milich from famed kids’ rock band AudraRox; and Shine & The Moonbeams, bringing a smooth R&B sound to kid-friendly themes.

Brooklyn Flea + Smorgasburg
The Flea and Smorgasburg are on as usual this weekend. On Saturday, the Flea is held at 176 Lafayette Avenue (between Clermont + Vanderbilt Avenues) in Fort Greene. On Sunday, the Flea will be at 27 North 6th Street (between Kent Avenue + East River). Saturday at the Williamsburg location is also the home of our all-food market, Smorgasburg. The Flea features over a 150 vendors offering a great mix of vintage, antiques, jewelry and amazing food. Flea: Saturday & Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm. Smorg: Saturday, 11 am to 6 pm. Free.
