Fridays at 11, the Upstater blog brings you a selection of properties north of New York City. This week: water on all (or at least three) sides.

Willo-Isle, Brewster

Putnam Lake’s not far — about an hour and a half from Brooklyn — but it feels like real country in parts of it, so we’re guessing this $1.25 million four-bedroom, 1.5-baths on a private island in a private lake will seem like a serious getaway. The house, a beautiful stone manor of 5,600 square feet, surrounded by trees, was built in 1932.

Putnam Lake allows motor boats at five miles per hour (a plus if you have to endure them), as well as rowboats, canoes, and kayaks — plenty of ways to arrive. The island comes with a detached garage for the boat, and a guest house, too.

Willo-Isle, Brewster. ($1,250,000). GMAP.

Comfort Island

No, you can’t weekend in the Thousand Islands, unless you have a helicopter or private jet (entirely possible in Brooklyn these days). So, if you do, or if you want a Miss Havisham-esque getaway, check out this rather amazing place on a private island.

Besides the amazing artwork, it has a child-friendly beach, nine bedrooms, three baths and almost two acres.

Comfort Island Victorian. $1.495 million. GMAP.

This one is a bit far for weekending, but if you’re an Albany regular (it’s technically in Schenectady), it’s perfect: a 19-acre island in the Mohawk River called Glenotia (a combination of Glenville and Scotia, two nearby towns). Formerly it was called Isle of the Mohawks, and not much has happened on it since they took the footbridge down in the 1930s.

If you don’t want to buy it yourself, this blogger is soliciting funds to help him make the purchase. If you contribute, he’ll let you come over and play.

Glenotia Island. $91,900.
