Looks a rental conversion is actually happening at the huge Red Hook warehouse at 160 Imlay Street. Last October a reader passed along a tip that a rental conversion may happen, with prices on par with the Red Hook Fairway apartments. Since then, radio silence. The building, however, popped up on Streeteasy as a future rental development. The marketing date is listed for January of 2013, which seems optimistic to us. The DOB hasn’t approved any recent permits here either. 160 Imlay was once planned for a condo conversion, but a legal battle followed and the building eventually sold.
