Checking in on 237 Carlton Avenue

The townhouse at 237 Carlton Avenue, right next to the Carlton Mews project, has been under construction for more than a year but it’s starting to look good. The latest DOB permit issued, in June 2012, was to convert the home from a one family to a two family, repoint the brick facade, repaint the cornice and add new framing, flooring and vestibule doors. Just this week the Landmarks Preservation Commission heard an application to legalize the removal of a porch and the construction of a rear deck without LPC permits.
