Kemistry Lounge, the multi-level nightclub planned for 260 Flatbush Avenue near the Barclays Arena, may not happen after all, a prospect sure to give cheer to the many residential neighbors who feared the noise and unruliness often associated with bottle-service clubs. According to Atlantic Yards Report, the landlord has filed to evict the would-be club owners for failure to pay over $60,000 in back rent. The owners had not been able to gain support from the Community Board 6 and had not filed for a license from the State Liquor Authority. Despite assurances from Kemistry’s management ten days ago that they were moving ahead, the eviction notice posted certainly suggests otherwise.
