A reader sent in the above photo of 431 Kent Avenue, the old Domsey store in Williamsburg, which together with the lot next door, was part of an assemblage of property purchased by Isaac Hager and a partner in 2007. Construction started in early 2008 but soon stalled out; Hager was later sued by the lender on the project. A crew put up scaffolding a week ago and have since removed the roof of the warehouse. It looks like the building isn’t getting totally demolished however: the DOB approved this permit to “Partially demolish 4 and 2 floor portions of this building, reduce to a 1 story manufacturing building as per plans. No change in occupancy.” Anyone know what’s going on?
