After lots of protest, the MTA has backed down on its plan to cut the extended G train service. The NY Daily News reports that the MTA plans to make the expansion, which goes into Park Slope, Windsor Terrace, and Kensington, permanent. The Daily News also hears that Red Hook and Bay Ridge may also see some service restored after major cuts in 2010. The MTA Chairman, Joseph Lhota, will spill all the details on service upgrades when he presents the revised financial plans to the MTA board next week.
