A trusted tipster passes along word that Chipotle, the burrito chain restaurant, will expand into two new spaces in and around Downtown Brooklyn. The first rumored location is 375 Jay Street, at the corner of Jay and Willoughby. The second: 140 Court Street, only three doors down in Cobble Hill from Trader Joe’s. Pictured above is the Court Street space which we already reported had landed a national food tenant at over $100 a foot. Currently there is only one Chipotle outpost in Brooklyn, at 185 Montague Street. Presumably it does very well. Excited for more?

I’m glad I am close to Calexico. I think this could hurt California Taqueria and Buddy’s which aren’t as good. (I want to like California Taqueria but their tortillas are SO dry.) Btw, Fast and Fresh deli on Hoyt near Atlantic has some great cheap burritos, tamales, etc.
