Big Storage Sale at 201 64th Street

The gigantic self-storage facility at 201 64th Street in Sunset Park near the BQE changed hands earlier this month. The buyer was Extra Space Storage Inc. of Salt Lake City, so we can guess what they’re going to do with it! The property extends the length of the block with buildings totaling 183,400 square feet. The whopping sale price of $35.8 million works out to just under $200 a foot; that’s almost double what Storage Deluxe paid per square foot at 1050 Atlantic Avenue recently. It also translates into a tidy profit for the seller, who picked the Sunset Park property up for $20.4 million in 2005.
