228 Washington isn’t the only townhouse in town getting a new cornice this summer: A reader just sent in this photo of 188 Nelson Street, where the scaffolding came down late last week after a major renovation to reveal a new cornice in addition to a refurbished brownstone facade. The house, which was purchased last year for $950,000, used to consist of “crap fake stone,” according to the tipster.
