The 17-story condominium building at 114 North 8th Street officially called the Albero and unofficially known as the Finger Building is sold out. According to a broker on the project, as of last week 26 units had closed, with the other 12 expected to close by early July. This news marks the end of one of the more controversial and troubled projects to emerge from the building boom of the last decade. After years of zoning disputes, legal disputes with neighbors and public outcry, GFI took over the project in late 2008, finished the construction and now has successfully sold the place out. Case closed.

  1. isn’t it the tallest building in williamsburg aside from the few on the waterfront? my point is that every neighborhood has a “finger building” (think clinton hill) and it is always because of height and not attitude or whatever.
