A reader tipped us off to renewed activity at the forever-scaffolded building at 132 Wyckoff Street at the corner of Hoyt. The building owner was on site when we stopped by late last week and said that the renovation’s really happening this time and that, when complete, there will be four duplex rentals with a shared roof deck. (The most recent DOB permits say there will only be three units.) Target rent? $6,000 a month for each apartment. The scaffold’s been up here for years and back in 2010 we spotted some debris removal going on; previous plans for six units and two additional stories fell through in 2010. Current plans call for the building remaining two stories.

I wasn’t moaning – I was advising. And by your comment, it looks like we’re in agreement that $6k is about 20% too high.
Are they adding another story? Do you guys all remember “Health House” on Nevins & Pacific? They took a very similar two-story structure and made it four stories, for two duplexes. Pretty sure they never sold – went to rentals.
That corner could also use some traffic calming – a huge bulb-out/neckdown on the southeast corner could slow down southbound traffic, and slow down turns onto Wyckoff.
