Brooklyn’s first Seattle’s Best coffee chain location opened this morning at 253 Livingston Street. The menu features some creative coffee drinks, like Caramel Candy, Birthday Cake lattes and Caramel Pretzel and S’mores mochas (which come iced or hot), breakfast items like cinnamon rolls and danishes, and sandwiches. The franchise owner, a Brooklyn native, plans to expand in New York City but said this will be the flagship store. At the friends and family day yesterday, nearly 2,000 people stopped by the Downtown Brooklyn location. There will be a free coffee day on Wednesday, June 27 and Seattle’s Best will be offering up free samples outside the Brooklyn Cyclone’s game on June 29th. Seattle’s Best has changed a lot since the late 90’s, when I last went in one. I guess that was before Starbucks bought them. Ew, all that sugar. Gross.
