While a number of houses in Red Hook have sold for slightly more than $1 million, no abode in the neighborhood has ever come close to cracking the $2 million mark. Is that about to change? Probably not, but Curbed pointed to a new listing for a house on Dikeman Street that has, uh, audaciously been listed for $2,595,000. Here’s Curbed’s intel: “The place last sold in 2006 for $790,000 to one Eva Zurek—who also happens to be the broker on the new listing. Well then! Do the Zureks’ renovations to the place—DOB permits show that it was converted from a two-family to a one-family residence—justify the new ask?” The listing is short on photos (maybe we’re missing it, but we don’t see a floor plan), and here’s what it has to say: “Best Find. Modern design by well know architect this 4 story Town House offer 3000’S.F of living space. The southwest facing garden side is entirely glassed with curtain wall system allowing the magnificent light into the house the whole day. Open stainless steel kitchen with top of the line Miele Appliances, 2 Bathrooms with Philippe Starck finishes. Exposed Brick-Cement walls , 2 WBFPL, plus unique finishes thru out the whole house make this a best place Red Hook has to Offer.” On the jump, the interior photos that are included in the listing.

  1. i’m sexy and i know it…………………

nothing screams $2.6 mil more than an ikea kitchen and an original brick basement. love the cornice too. less is more. would have been $3 mil if it were just a one room shell with padded white walls.
