Today a reader noticed that a beer-and-wine license app had been posted to the front door of the former Catherine’s Caffe space, on Dekalb between Cumberland and Carlton. A bit of digging on the google machine reveals that the forthcoming eatery will be called The Brooklyn Sandwich Society, and the biz has a Facebook page on which renovation photos like the one shown above are being posted. Their website describes the concept as a farm-to-table sandwich shop that’s going to use a lot of ingredients from greenmarket farms. Sample sandwich: “The Carlton is one of our spring sandwiches. It’s made with Roasted Lamb, Fava Bean Mash, Grilled Ramps, Mint Persillade, and served on Sunflower Rye.” Yum! No word on the opening date.
