The firm MNS’s latest report on the Brooklyn rental market is showing small increases on average Brooklyn rents for every type of apartment aside from studios in November, which dropped slightly from October ($1,717 compared to $1,723). While rents for one-bedrooms and studios rose month-over-month, the real story here is how much more expensive they are now compared to November 2010: More than 10 percent higher in the case of one-bedrooms, which averaged $2,310 last month, according to the report. Dumbo continues to have the highest rents tracked by the report, with one-bedrooms averaging $3,407 last month, and Bay Ridge has the cheapest rents, with one-bedrooms going for an average of $1,312 in November. The report also says that rents in Crown Heights increased the most of any neighborhood in November for studios and one-bedrooms, reaching $1,400 for studios and $1,692 for one-bedrooms.
