Work Begins on the Carlton Mews Church

Reinforcement work is now under way at the Carlton Mews Church at 233 Adelphi Street, a building that was in danger of collapsing this summer. In late September a number of permits came through to replace the walls, the ceiling, roof drains and light fixtures. There’s also a new construction fence. LPC sped up the approval process for the work because the building was in such dire condition. There’s still no word on what the church will be converted into. This summer, the architect working on the building told us that the firm was “hired at this point just to make sure the building doesn’t fall down.”
