This morning a groundbreaking was held at the Strand Theatre in the BAM Cultural District, which will be transformed into a modern arts and media facility. The new center, which will be called the BRIC Arts | Media House, is slated to open in 2014. Renderings were also released today, and while they’re not entirely different from those first published in 2010, a few more images were added to the mix. The center will house BRIC Arts and and the UrbanGlass reNEWal Project, three galleries, a 250-seat performance space, a television studio, an artist performance/work space, a glassworking facility, a retail space, a public lobby and two classrooms.
