Last May, Steiner Studios broke ground on five new sound stages in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. We stumbled across the construction earlier this week while driving around the yard and couldn’t believe how far along the project was. When completed next May, the new stages will be used for filming television series and commercials. Meanwhile, Steiner is preparing to embark on its renovation of Building 1 at 25 Washington Avenue, which will include a joint venture with Brooklyn College to create an affordable graduate program in film; other uses will include photo and post production studios.
